I'm still waiting to hear from the company that interviewed me, a couple of weeks ago.

Their H/R person said it'd be "about two weeks", so this afternoon I left a voicemail expressing my continued interest in their opening and my desire to hear from them soon.

Which reminds me that when I got up this morning, Mevima ([livejournal.com profile] angilong's oldest daughter) told me "some guy" had called, but she didn't take a message or get a call-back number. I reminded her that I'm trying to get a job, and that the phone call could have been someone wanting to give me one. That in the future, she should wake me or at the very least get the information I need to return the call.

Feh.

Tonight I had a meaningful discussion with a lady named Melanie about aspects of personal respect and the demands of politeness, vis-a-vis making committments and keeping appointments. Then I took a nap. Both were helpful, albeit in different ways.

Tomorrow (August 1) is the anniversary of my being laid off.

Good luck

Sometimes it takes these places entirely too long. They have to jump through many, many hoops.
I remember interviewing at one place and I was told it would be 1-3 weeks. I interviewed at another place a week later and they called me back a week later and I started the following week. I was working for two weeks before the first company called and wanted to schedule a second interview.
Idiots.
