Unfailing tail-wagger, avatar of trickster, gentlest of the gentle with the small and helpless. Forever a champion in our hearts and minds. Waiting now at the Rainbow Bridge, waiting as faithfully in the Summerlands as ever you did in life.

Gone… but never forgotten.

I've never cried while reading LJ before...but the tears overflowed when I read your beautiful tribute.

I grieve for your loss, but I rejoice in the memories you have of the time shared. They really do leave pawprints on our hearts.

When I first came to live with riverheart, the only dog in residence was Bitty. Taz came home from his breeder's house a couple of months later, and Taz it was who made me feel at home; he became my dog as much as he was River's.

I only wish I had a photo of him prancing around carrying his food dish in his mouth; if he'd shown even half as much style in the show ring as he did with his dish, we'd've added "Champion" to his name.

The little pup following in Taz's footsteps is our Raven, now 19 months old and full of fire and fun. When I took that picture of her following her uncle to the pond, she was 11 weeks old.

No dog can ever replace another, but our two other long-time dogs and our new addition, Quinn (Raven's litterbrother) have been a great comfort to us.
