Half a year
Jul. 31st, 2004 05:13 pmSix months ago today, my beloved
riverheart and I were married aboard the Bainbridge ferry.
The past six months have been the best of my life, thanks solely to my beloved's presence in it.
I haven't been able to be a provider, nor can I meet far too many of her needs. Too many of her dreams are withering on her soul's vine, because we do not have the wherewithal to fulfill them; too many more have been on hold for far too long because of my own self-doubt and inadequacy. Too many times I've had to say "Someday, perhaps; but not today," to the things we want to do, the experiences we've longed to share.
Yet she loves me, and I love her. That suffices. That more than suffices; it is all I need or want from life.
Happy semiversary, my heart; and many many more to come.
For poorer and richer,
For worse and better
