I'm not ready to give up just yet. I'm going to give it about another year. What's going on in the People's Republic of Taxachusetts doesn't have to affect us here if we stay strong and push it back.... perhaps we can affect what happens there just by saying "no." and seeing can't we make it stick. Gary Locke and Greg Nickels aren't going to put up with that kind of bullshit if they can help it... and Kitsap... I don't know, but I have the feeling Kitsap may be at least in part even more resistive to the change (unless the Navy decides otherwise)....
OTOH, I'm keeping my options open. I've taken the quiz found off this page (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/index.html) and passed; computer people are particularly sought after in BC (see the last paragraph of this page (http://www.mcaws.gov.bc.ca/amip/pnp/applications/Donotapply3.htm), which paragraph says who *should* apply).... it's rather a last resort, but I want it in place....
The last paragraph of that page refers to the preferred courses of study for international students. OTOH, it's also a good indicator for the province's preferred job classifications.

Two hundred twenty-five years. It was a grand experiment.
All we're doing now is watching the corpse twitch. I don't know if it can ever truly be revived, and certainly not without some sort of sea change.

A slight correction
