Deadline Hell; the other side
Apr. 22nd, 2004 12:11 pmLast night was only the third time we've spent the night apart since we started living together, and the second night in a row.
It sucks.
My beloved,
riverheart, is the lead QA analyst for Metaplay, a small game company. They're in the throes of a tight schedule for some games.
So, she's working umpteen-hour days and spending nights at a nearby hotel.
I miss her.
I miss her laughter. I miss her reading humorous and thought-provoking articles to me. I miss reading them to her.
I miss doing crossword puzzles together.
I miss making her lunch, decorating her lunch bag a different design every day, seven months and counting. I miss picking out her clothes while she's showering.
I miss the look of love in her eyes, the sound of it in her voice. I miss the million subtleties that tell me she knows she's loved and cherished and protected.
I miss the cuddling, the pillow talk. I miss her kisses, her caressess. I miss the feel of her body next to mine.
I miss the screams of delight, hers and mine chorusing in orgasmic ululation.
By all the gods and goddesses, I miss her.
