Not great, but better. Enough better that she chose to go to work today, whence she posted a personal update.

It's her birthday, and I'd dearly love to paint the town several shades of red. But she's not 100%, and it's a mid-week night— which means work for her tomorrow, and the first day of Finals Week for me. Moreover, the exchequer is running on fumes. What to do, what to do???

Just put it off the town painting a little while. Delayed sweets are sweeter often.

I was gonna say, one of the things I did that got her attention was cook for her. She allowed as how so very often a man would expect *her* to cook breakfast after a night/morning together.... and she really liked that *I* was the one who did breakfast the weekends we were together.

So, yes. Cook for her. Even if it's simple, I know both of you well enough that it will be fabulous, and that she will let you know that in no uncertain terms both presently and when she's, ah, better able to express herself. :)

Candles, dinner, maybe a massage or draw her a hot bath after dinner? It's the simple things that often matter most.
